Welcome to thrive!

This is your guide to how we do things here. Our school is a place, where everyone is included, supported, and encouraged to be their best self. following information explains our values, routines, and where to get help when you need it.

The Thrive Code

What is it?

At Thrive, we want everyone to feel safe, supported, and inspired. That’s why we follow the Thrive Code – six simple values that help us all do our best, treat each other well, and enjoy being part of our school.

T - Trying your best

Put effort into your learning and activities. Even if something is tricky, we keep going and ask for help when we need it.

H - Helping others

Be kind and supportive. We look out for each other and make sure no one feels left out.

R - Respecting others

Show consideration for everyone. We treat people how we would like to be treated — with kindness and fairness

I - Inspiring attitude

Encourage those around you. We stay positive and help each other feel good about ourselves.

V - Valuing yourself

Take care of your well-being. We notice our feelings, take breaks when needed, and talk to staff if we feel overwhelmed.

E - Engaging positively

Join in with enthusiasm. We get involved, try new things, and enjoy being part of the Thrive community.

What happens if you forget the Thrive code?

Everyone has difficult days. If something goes wrong: - We’ll help you talk it through. - You’ll get a chance to put things right. - You’ll always be listened to.

Thrive Uniform

At Thrive, we believe that what you wear should never be a source of stress. Our uniform has been carefully chosen to support your comfort, confidence, and well-being—both physically and emotionally. We understand that many of our learners have sensory needs, and we want you to feel safe and at ease throughout the day.

Our uniform removes the daily pressure of choosing what to wear or feeling the need to keep up with fashion trends. It also avoids the expectation of buying expensive clothes, helping to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels equal.

We chose navy blue as the core colour because it is neutral and calming, helping to reduce sensory overwhelm. Our uniform includes soft, flexible clothing that supports movement and comfort:

Uniform available to purchase from Thrive:

• Navy blue sweatshirt with logo – £15

• Navy cotton t-shirt with logo – £12

• Navy joggers with logo – £12

Pupils may wear black trainers or shoes, and plain black leggings as an alternative to joggers.

We work flexibly with families where sensory needs require alternative clothing.

If families are struggling to afford uniform, please speak to us in confidence — we will help.

Support and safe spaces

When you start at Thrive, we’ll introduce you to all our staff and explain what their roles are, so you’ll always know who to go to when you need help. We understand that sometimes school can feel overwhelming, so we have special spaces like our sensory and chill-out rooms where you can take time to relax, calm down, or just have a quiet moment. These areas are designed to help you feel safe and supported, especially when things get too noisy or busy. Our staff are always nearby to listen, help you recognise how you’re feeling, and support you in finding ways to manage your emotions so you can get back to learning when you’re ready.

Behaviour and Boundaries

The Thrive Code helps us behave kindly and safely. It reminds us to try our best, help others, and show respect. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but what’s important is how we deal with them. If things go wrong, we will talk about it calmly and work together to understand what happened and how to make things better. You can always put things right by being honest, taking responsibility, and trying again. At Thrive, clear boundaries help everyone feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Your Community

We are a community, and we support each other, no bullying of any kind will ever be tolerate at Thrive. We encourage you to make friends and support each other. We have a school council that helps to make improvements for us all at Thrive and everyone is welcome to join meetings and get involved.

Technology and Online Safety

At Thrive, we use technology to support learning in a safe and responsible way. When you arrive at school, your personal phone will be locked away safely and given back to you at the end of the day. This helps everyone stay focused and enjoy their time in school without distractions. School devices are for learning only, so they should not be used for personal messages, games, or social media. You must also keep your school passwords private and never share them with anyone else. We’ll help you learn how to stay safe online, be kind when using technology, and make smart choices about what you do and share. Our goal is to help you use technology in positive and respectful ways, both in and out of school.

Safeguarding

Your wellbeing is important, and we are here to help if or when you need us.

If you need to chat you can WhatsApp our “Talk safe line” out of school hours on 07429355370. Then the next time you are in school you will be given time out to talk to a trusted adult. In school time you can email talksafe@thrivewirral.co.uk or tell a staff member that you need time to talk. Everything you say will be confidential unless we think you or anyone else is in danger of harm.

Your Voice Matters

If you have an idea to make Thrive better, or a suggestion for our code, we’d love to hear it. You can write it down, tell an adult, or share it in a group meeting.
